You have got to be f****** kidding me already!

This morning, I went to take off the fresh layer of bugs from the trip back from Sylvan at the local car wash (someone was killed down there 15 mins before I arrived, check 660am news for it ).

Bring it home and as I am starting to wipe it down and detail rest of the car, I notice all these tiny rust spots!!!!!

It's on both the front AND rear, around the general areas of the headlights and taillights!

Nice quality, Mistu! Nice quality!

Guess Hyatt or Platinum will be seeing an unhappy customer tommorrow!

Now I am starting to second guess trading in my 2007 F-150.

Don't get upset just yet. The tiny little spots can be removed with the ClayBar products.
Unfortunately the little rust spots are kinda common on alot of vehicles. They are a hassle, but they can be removed with a bit of work. You'll see it most commonly on White cars. They can be attributed by rail dust...transportation on the rail carts...acid rain can also do it. Back in 95 when I had a new White Z-28, & after applying ArmorAll to the tires...after a 10 minute drive...guess I didn't let the Armor All dry enough....I noticed little splatters of it all down the sides of the car & in those spots I noticed the little orangish spots.
I'm sure others can elaborate on this topic, but this is about all I know.

Keep it waxed often & use the clay bar as soon as you notice the orange spots. Stay on top of it & it won't be that bad for the upkeep.

About the poor person being gunned down there.....sux to be him!

What color do you have?

Hearing about the horrendeous paint quality on this car really irks me. I am seriously considering finding out how much it would cost to get the whole car retouched, triple waxed, and have the 3M clear bra film applied over the ENTIRE car.

...

I'm serious.

I'm just going to take my car to a truck shop & have my whole exterior done with the Rhino Lining

Funny thing...I did see an old guy that had it done to his old Nova. Whoever did it...actually did a nice job. Won't be able to give that car a door ding!

Wicked White......white cars have had this problem that I have known about since 1990. They still haven't fixed it in all these years.
Quicker, cheaper & lower quality....gotta NOT love it.

I did the 3M protectant on the lower hood/upper bumper area (most bumpers are made to absorb light inpact, so avoid wasting $$ doing the whole thing).

It cost me a few hundred bucks, but it's the best MOD to date. No more chips although i still thinkit's ridiculous that I had to do it in the first place. If you are thinking of protecting your whole car, I' d go to a local body shop after the clay bar treatment and inquire about applying another layer of clearcoat.

It would be interesting to see the cost and effectiveness of doing this.

Don't you guys have the paint warranty.......... If it's rusting and you have the paint warranty take it in and have it fixed..... Just a suggestion..... I havnt had this problem you guys are having w/ the paint but who knows maybe they wouldn't cover that with your warranty...... Doesn't hurt to ask......

I have the same thing happening on my Wicked White. I wish I had gone with the paint protection when I was getting the car.
My only suggestions is buff that stuff out while it still isn't too deep and keep the car waxed, especially during winter.
Mine so far only has it on the trunk... all over the trunk.
But it certainly is a pi$$off.

Either way, I think there is a 5 year warranty on paint rust, so you should be covered...
