HAHA something stupid I did, well lets see

My 95 TSI 5spd I invested a ton of money into. Bent some valves so Had it rebuilt. Drove maybe 500 miles on it before the clutch went out. I didnt know that was the problem so I sold the entire car for $800 to get it out of the yard. Yeah Im kicking myself in the **** and HAVE LEARNED

Also another time I was giving it a tune up. I took off all 4 wires and didnt mark them or anything. Car sat for 2 weeks broke down because I didnt have the internet or a manual at the time for the firing order. God so long ago all this.

HAHA!
I did somethin kind of like that once.
Was working on an old Ford Tempo (god I HATED that car), And had to do somethng with the electical, can't even remeber what it was (this was like 15 years ago).
I was on a bolt that was positive with a rachet, and somehow, touched something negative. Sparks frickin every where! Scared the crap out of me. Dropped the rachet, jumped about 10 feet in the air, banged my head against the open hood, stunbled back and put my foot on the creeper behind me. The creeper shot out from underneath me, and I fall backwards, hitting my head against garage wall, and in the proccess, somehow got my right foot twisted up in a jack stand that was to my left.
It was like one of those old Loney Toons shows with Willey Coyote. My roomate comes out to see what happens, and sees mw lieing on the ground in a heap. He just shook his head and walked out.
Ford Tempo: 1
Me: 0
I got owned. lol

When I first bought my car it needed some little odds and ends to get running. The radiator had a bad leak in it, the battery was dead, tires were flat and bald. Stupid stuff really. So I replaced the stuff at the sellers house and planned on driving it home. He didn't want me to get a ticket (unregistered, uninsured, ficticious plates AAAHHEMM)........ so he offered to dolly it for free. Well I drove the car up the ramp and heard a loud crack, followed by splashing. There goes my 10 minuite old 200$ radiator. At least now all the bolts were already broken loose :P

Isn't really something stupid I did but something stupid. Told my buddy who just bought some pontiac as his first car that he needed turn signal fluid so he goes to a couple shops and says they don't have any anywhere lol!

Next we were working on an old school bug in auto mechanics and the same kid with the pontiac wanted to help but was just getting in the way really so we told him to go look up an radiator for an air cooled bug. Took him twenty minutes to figure it out. He now works for a dealership and puts all the new guys through that even has the guy with the bug come in for free something or other.

And last different friend broke a wheel stud and got the wrong ones so I looked at them said we need longer ones so I told him to just rent a bolt streacher from auto zone. He tried and failed.
I feel bad for the first kid not so much for the second he should have known that.

when I worked at sears we had a salesman(Bob) calling 3 different places for "muffler bearings." The sad thing is, when he called advance and autozone each one of their associates actually asked, "what's the year make and model?" and then told him it must be dealer item only. It was finally when he called the dealer and the parts guy said, "who is this? johnny you fucker is this you pranking me?" that he finally realized he=dumb

Jesus Christ – you’re lucky you didn’t kill someone with that flying wheel. A friend of a friend had a wheel off an 18 wheeler bounce over the guard rail and crush the cabin on her Ford Expedition. She was pretty messed up I guess.

As for torque’in every 25-50 miles – that sounds ridiculous – I’d have to do it every morning, half way to work, at the office, and stop on the way home. I’ve never used a torque wrench – I just do it until it feels tight and I’m careful not to overdo it. (it being tightening the lugs!)

We do this stuff all the time. Try calling NAPA and asking for a water pump for a 1965 Volkswagon Beetle. Have a tape recorder handy. (Their air cooled)

My mom told me she bought a car when she was about 18 and it started shaking in the front end a few weeks after she bought it.

So she brought it back and they told her she had BAD AIR in the tires, and that they would be happy to empty them out and fill them up with some nice fresh air.

I guess my grandfather later went back with her to get a real solution.
