My Diamante will not shift to reverse. drive, 1st, 2nd, Nuetral all work fine. I heard it might be my shifter linkage. Does that sound correct? I looked at my manual and it has NOTHING about shifter linkage. Can someone please point me in the right direction or a picture/diagram?
Thanks alot!

The cable can be possibly misaligned, out of adjustment . So when shifting to reverse , the cable may be pulling the selector on the transmission too far or nor far enough . On the far off note it could be sumthing internal? On thing to do is , start the vehicle , and press the brake and slowly pull the shifter frum park towards reverse , see and feel if the transmission engages into reverse while slowly pulling the shifter to reverse. If not slowly start to move the shifter pass the reverse position towards the neutral position to see if it engages into reverse. This is merely a test to gauge if and how much the shifter cable is off in adjustment and , adjustment may correc t the issue unless the bracket where the cable bolts to the upper transmission mount is broken , or the cable itself. Where the air cleaner is and battery , if yu look down between this area yu should be able to see the shifter cable.
