Hi People, first post here, I hope someone out there can help .... please

My 1995 TS Magna Wagon, V6, auto, has got some sort of gremlin in the electrics.
Yesterday I went to start the car and the battery was flat, OK so I disconnect the battery, check fluid levels, connect up the battery charger, come back 5 hours later, connect the battery and away we go.

Now this is the weird part, turn the car off and notice that half the dashboard lights a glowing, not brightly but still glowing, they get dimmer then brighten up again, some go off, others stay on. If I run the shift through the gears I can see the indicator on the dash change as well.

I had this problem a couple of years ago for 3 or 4 days then it went away. Now I want to get it fixed.

I tried disconnecting and connecting the battery again, no luck.
Any ideas ??

Help Please

The instrument panel indicator lights or panel lights are on? Do yu have any other odd electrical things? Are yur headlight switch have an auto on setting?

The instrument panel indicator lights like seat belt warning, park brake warning, oil pressure warning etc.

The only other electrical problem is the ignition switch, you have got to turn the key with a light downwards pressure for it to work.
I've always thought it was because the key is a bit worn.

I thought so yu might be having an ignition switch issue. The barrel and tumbler is worn a bit , wut i am suspecting is happening is that the section at the end of the lock cylinder , the portion that turns the ignition switch (electrical part of the switch) is and has cause issues with the electrical switch also. The barrel end is not turning the electrical switch all the way back , so its still intermittenlly supplying a varied amount of voltage to certain things like the pcm and tcm ands other things. The switch and the lock cylinder and barrel may require replacment , but removing the steering column shrouds , yu can inspect and remove the retaining bolts that hold the ignition switch to the ignition lock cylinder and inspect the shaft that pertrudes the ignition lock cylinder to turn the ignition switch. , this way yu can determine if yu will need to replace both.
