Well....towards the end of the month, my free 6 month subscription end. By that time, in the 6 months of owning the car, I would have racked up OVER 10,000 on the clock. Yes I do alot of driving :)
Sirius has been calling & calling EVERY STINKIN DAY! Those people are really annoying! They want me to renew my subscription, but they aren't offering me any deals.

$142.45 for 1 year?!!!1 I don't think so!

$12.95 a month....paying month by month....NO! Too much money!

Besides when you have the optionof running a MP3 player...you get to really listen to what you want & not have to pay for it.

So when you all renewed your sub. to Sirius...did you get a deal & if so, what did you pay?
I would just like to get some sort of leverage if they call again.

THANKS!

I have a 3 year Serius subscription from my old car. The Cd player died, and it was either Ipod + fm transmitter or satellite radio. Cost me ~120/year for the subscription and I got the radio for around 40$.

Once my 6 month sub runs out I'll just switch it over to that.

I've heard a lot about XM being better quality than Serius, which pisses me off. I didn't have a chance to hear both before I bought, and I'm thinking I should have waited.

Well I have had both. XM was willing to do a MUCH better deal than Sirius. I could have gotten XM for around $72 a year. Sirius is double that because they don't want to deal.
They haven't merged YET, but it is still in the works. My neighbor works for XM & as soon as she finds out something, she lets me know. The deal XM offered me had nothing to do with my neighbor.

I actually prefer XM over Sirius...but that's just me.

I just want to know who was offered what & that way if they really want my biz....they'll bite.

Personally, I love Sirius.. I listen to it at work and on the road.
Right now I am paying monthly at 12.95 until I can save up and pay 499.99 for lifetime... I plan on keeping it for a while and this will be the most cost efficient in the long run

Personally, I can't stand Sirius.. It seems like every time I turned it on I would hear nothing but Pearl Jam, or Nirvana etc. There is no way i would pay either the $12 or the $140. I actually didn't want them to give it to me in the first place. I got the iPod cables for my car, and that's all I need.

I got lucky when my cousin built my computer. He put A TON of music on here from his collection & the collections of his friends. Grant it...it's not all up to date stuff...but new enough. Some of the artists I have their entire collections & even rare finds...like Metallica entire collection for example. Plus any CD's that friends & family have....I grap em & burn em & there ya go....mo music!

XM was willing to do like $72 for the year...pretty much 1/2 of what Sirius wants & they offered it to me to keep the service I didn't have to demand anything.

Guess I will just keep the old MP3 rolling!

Well....yesterday was my last day of my free service.

They sent me I guess my final notice that my service would be turned off soon. It was typed up on neon yellow paper LOL!

Wow...that really got my attention to send it right into the trash. They STILL won't do any kind of a deal.

Oh well......I bought a MP3 player & I can listen to as much diff. music as I like.

Was nice while I had it...but the prices they charge are silly.

shhh!! Don't let that one leak out! :bwekk:

XM was always willing to deal with me when I had in the GM vehicles. Sirus doesn't care if they get you back. And besides with that many channels I just get frustrated, cause I can never find anything good anyway.
6'.... MP3 is the way to go bud! And who knows maybe they ran out of white paper....

Yeah....they prob. peed on the one they sent me

My neighbor who works for XM just told me today that XM & Sirius have officially merged.

Maybe I will be able to get a better deal......

I'm taking a trip to Indy in another week & I would like to gave the service back....but if they aren't going to deal...then oh well.
I have tons of music on the server already & my MP3.

Hold out... I did.
I just paid $12.95 for 3 months of service... after that it goes to $38 something for every 3 months.

Towards the end of my service, I did get sick of it and was mostly using my own music instead of listening.

But the time my 3 months ends, i'll probably be sick of it again and put it on freeze until they offer the same again.

And i gotta agree... it seems like they have the same list of songs playing for at least a month on most channels, so a few days of listening you hear everything you will be listening to for that entire month as far as music.

The only thing that stays fresh is the talk radio, but if you're not into that....

So how long did you hold out until they did a deal with you?

Did they contact you with a deal or did you have to contact them?

$12.95 for 3 months is something that I can live with :)

Didn't they at 1 time have a deal where you pay $500 & you get their service for life?

Same as you had got......3 months for $12.95

Well I just got off the phone with them & renewed it for 3 months @ $12.95 total.

I asked what 6 months would be & he replied like $54 plus??!! Nope don't think so.....3 months is good for me & maybe when that expires....they'll send me more discount offers. Only time will tell.
