Ok i found a 1995 eclipse 5 speed (non turbo) with the durango orange copper paint, i went and looked a it with my dad and the guy told us it didnt start and its been sitting for 2 years, we asked to have it jumped and it took a while just for the battery to turn on, my dad ran home and got starter fluid and the car got started but only for like 20 seconds, no knock, no smoke, nothing seemed wrong for that few times they got it started. The thing is we dont know how it drives and he said before he parked it ( because he bought a deli and needed a different car) there was nothing wrong except he thought the alternator( wich is not the problem)....we have to call back with a price and he wants 2500 wich im definently not paying, but im afraid after we get it started and running (we think its the fuel pump) we will find another problem...ugh what do you guys think, ive been working alot and saving up some money, and its my first car, what would you guys do? 130,000 miles on engine, new clutch, body is in excellent condition and so is the interior.

If you like to wrench, get it. Just know every 13year old car takes work to be reliable.

In 2 years alot of things can go wrong, something you need to concider is where its been sitting and if it been covered or just let to sit in a yard. I've personally seen cars that sat fro 2-3 years and the entire brake system will rust out or be ruined.

So many things can go wrong with a car like that, I would be really cafeful especially if its your first car and you arent so mechanically inclined. Plus, it can be expensive to fix what ever you find and your stuck with it.

Personally, if I were you, I would walk away and find something that is atleast is running and has ran in recently. Good Luck

And definitly dont pay over 1k... that seems low but the thing isnt running.

I agree, get it if you like to wrench. Expect to put moe work into it than just a fuel pump. There could be an electrical issue, or something else going on.
I got my 95 GS manual a month ago, and already have $1000 into at least, on top of the $2500 I spent to buy it. I like to wrench on my own stuff, and I knew it was going to be this way, so no problem.
I would work him down to maybe $1500 - $1000.
Before you replace the fuel pump, I would replace the battery (you are going to need a new one anyway, it sounds like). If it runs for longer than 20s, have a basic electrical diag done at your local mechanics. Many places will test the charging system for free.
Good luck!

if it was me i would go buy some gas and some injector cleaner and dump it into it and get a battery charger on it and start it few times let the injector cleaner get into it cause gas does gum up over time. id say for 2500 go find a decent gst...
