I really want the new EVO X, and came across this video today. Do you guys think this is real? or that a CAI can really add this much power? hmmm...
If so, it makes me want the new evo even more!

The more HP and TQ you have to begin with, the bigger the gains you can expect to see. Injen's CAI adds 10 HP and 11 TQ on a measly 152HP NA 2.0L engine.

Just imagine when you throw a turbo into the mix.

It sounds scripted for some reason.

I'd put money on that being a fake video.

I thought the Evo X had a turbo from the factory (4b11T engine?)

It does, but I'm saying imagine if our Lancers had a turbo and then you added Injen's CAI. The gain would be much larger than 10 HP on a dyno.

Definitly scripted, but the facts of the power gain are resonable.

Drivetrain loss. The 2008 Lancers are rated at 152 HP, but they produce less on the dyno. That's where the term WHP comes from. HP at the wheels is usually less than at the crank. You lose HP transferring the power from the engine to the wheels.

Although the Evo X having 240 WHP is actually pretty bad. That's over a 20% drivetrain loss... but then again, it's not too shabby for an AWD car... 5% per wheel. Compared to the Lancer, the Lancer has about a 12% drivetrain loss.
