Before I do mods to my car, I wanted to do before and after videos.

The first question I have is, Has anyone tried mounting a camera somewhere inside their car? I'm trying to find/ or build a mount that will be placed behind the right side of the drivers head rest. I'm trying to place the camera so that it sees from the top of the sick shift, to the top of the rearview mirror.

Also what I was thinking, is getting a camera mounted to the outside of the car, on the drivers side pointing towards the front of the wheel so you can see the car turning. I think there already are some things you can buy to mount stuff via suction cups for the outside of the car, has anyone tried those?

Suggestions and more always appreciated!

I think to mount outside you can easily make your own mount with some plastic tie wraps and some flat plywood. You can just use your imagination there. Mount it to the mirror and it should work perfectly for you.

For the inside, either use a friction mount or a suction cup mount to the windshield/side window. eBay would be a good source for the items at a fair price.

Good luck and post your videos :)

You can probably diy a really simple headrest camera mount. Then, expand on that with a pivot arm that is adjustable and can move the camera to whichever position you need.

Of course, easier said than done.

The original reason is so I can do before and after video clips for when I do different mods. But my 2nd reason is for like you said, making racing videos.
