Hello Everyone,

My 2004 4Life starts perfectly from cold but will not start when hot. Have to leave it to cool before it will run. Not overheating and runs fine.

I'm a farmer not a mechanic but is there anything simple for me to try before going the the garage?

Any help appreciated.

:00000732: to the forums

how many km has it done

could be plugs leads or a crack in the dissy cap or coil

open up the bonnet in the dark and look for arcing or sparkles in the leads

a vaccume leak /airfilter / fuel filter/

As stated , i have seen spark plug leads cause this issue , when they get hot they do not give any good arc to the spark plugs , it seems definetlly to be within the ignition system. I have seen ignition coils and control module's do this , primarily ignition control modules. On this system it is inside the distributor. It all depends which ignition system yu have , have yu checked for spark when it will not start? If the fuel filter is severly clogged it can cause the fuel pump and relay to to engage when hot also , in some cases.

Is it a petrol or diesel model?

I have the same problem on my 2007 Triton I will check everything you guys told me and let you know.
My car has only 14000 Km and I never changed the fuel filter, only regular services.
