CAI will do it, but the best way to get better gas mileage with parts is to do tune-ups more frequently.

You really can't boost gas mileage too much in any vehicle. The best way is to shift at 2000rpm, roll down those windows, and sweat your balls off.... or your boobs, whichever you may have.

You heard wrong - and no its not a good topic, it's a pointless topic and waste of time. It's common sense, keep up maintenance on the car and drive reasonable and you will only get as good as the manufacturer rates the vehicle at best. If that's not good enough, buy another car.

might want to do more research. i talked to the guy today during my lunch and he mentioned fuel cells being installed. this isnt going to turn into a argue topic but i would like to try to find other ways to help my gas mileage.

also have heard about a new synthetic oil you can put in your gas tank to help it out.

also i think you are very wrong about the fact that no car will get better gas mileage if you change things. just cause your a vender hear doesnt give you a right to say this isnt worth talking about. im sure ALOT if not all the members here would be amazed if some one found out a way to help with MPG.

It has nothing to with being a vendor, it has to do with experience and age.

Watch the video:

If you REALLY think you will come up with some MAGICAL solution to save gas on a Mitsubishi Messageboard talking to kids between 16-25 years old, you're wrong. The best solution is just keeping the car in good operating condition and proper driving.

I average 33 mpg on the highway in my 96gs. Your saying that the EPA EST. mileage is the best you can get? I am sorry but the 2G n/t cars were not rated at 36 mpg which is my highest recorded mileage that I have gotten in it. If my knowledge is correct they were rated at 28 mpg on the highway. How did I get 36 if the most I could get is 28? Saying that its a stupid topic and there isn't any way to get better gas mileage other then care and easy driving is a load of BS. When I got that mileage I was averaging between 75 - 90 mph. Yes I take care of my cars but I don't drive them easy either. The brand of fuel you use can effect your mileage. I am not saying it is going to be 5 mpg in either direction but it can effect it.

thank you wayner. and i know that not every one on here is 16-25 in fact most the people i talk to on other sites and here are over that by a long shot. anyways im not going to argue with you cause you seem to think you know the car cant do anything i guess.

i know i get 400 miles on a tank thats 17gallons i will be trying to improve that and when i do ill post it here and let people know. if any one has ideas let me know.

You know if Mitsu is like most auto makers they make a base engine and tune it for the app. IE power, economy, towing, etc.
i worked for a GM dealer were the manager would power tune his truck every weekend and economy tune it on the weekdays.Took about 5 minutes.

Have you tried a reputable perfomance shop?
Not sure if mitsu computers are tunable like GM's or others but it's worth checking into.
They may be able to retune your computer for better mpg.

no one has been able to tune the chip if thats what your talking about. they make the FIC but that doesnt really help unless you have other mods.
