'02 Endeavor. Rear hatch stopped working. Local mechanic wouldn't touch it. Brought it to Mitsubishi dealer, $90 diagnostic charge later and they said they couldn't help. They blamed it on a remote starter that was installed 3 years ago. Pretty certain it is electrical. When it first went down, I played with it and the fob, and could get it to work if I locked and unlocked several times. Now it's just dead.

Any suggestions? Thanks-

Sorry, it's an '04.

Did the search and found the thread. I did as suggested and unplugged the window switch. It didn't help.

I had another service center check it out and he traced it back to a control module somewhere near the dash. He said it had power to it, but was not putting any signal or power out. He felt that could be it but wasn't 100% sure it would fix the problem. Does this sound possible? It's a $250 part.

Thanks.

Like was adviced , to put on the remote start , yu had to put in an aftermarket alarm system. Correct. It did affacet the pre-exsisting lock system etc. I think remote start is just one of those features that enables people to be lazy. Adding this remote start bypassing the factory security and adding a seperate system . When yu unlock the hatch with the factory system and or doors etc , it does specific lock unlock sequences. The aftermarket systems just do repetative sequences to attempt to match that of teh factory system and over time cause major issues. Ive seen this many times with factory overriden systems with aftermarket alarms and non factory remote start systems.
