HI all,
have a 1999 eclipse gsx stock slowly replacing all the dying sensors etc.
I drive the car 60 km per day atleast all on the highway and I've noticed when the car is just started and i start driving i have a lot of power but as I drive more and more the car takes longer to make power drives really heavy eventually. The car has a new spec clutch and regular oil changes, I put only 94 octane gas in it as well and just did all the fluids in march. Also my idle tends to bounce once the car is warmed up between 500 rpm to 1000 rpms on some occasions when i shift into neutral quickly the rpms drop to idle so sharply the car almost dies. and when I just start and start to drive I can downshift easily meaning the rpms drop like they re suppose to and slow the car down. Once the car has been drivin an hour the downshift wont respond If i shift into a lower gear say 5th to 4th the downshift rpm wont slow down it would stay stuck at say 3000 rpms the same applies to other gears accept they just downshift slowly. last but not least this is the CEL light i keep getting over and over. I have a engine scanner and the code is P0125 - Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control.
What does that mean?

This means that the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor indicates that the engine has not reached the required temperature level to enter closed-loop operation within a specified amount of time after starting the engine.

that answer is from
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0125

I would appreciate if anyone can tell me wtf to do at a complete loss here.

Thanks for your help
darvesh

what does your temp gauge show??? is it normal around midle of gauge?? the cel is saying something about fuel so that could be why your not running right, but it sounds like you dont have a thermostat thats why your car stays cool because no water is being warmed up. im not really sure very confusing.

Hi, Thanks for the reply
the temp gauge is working fine, around the middle so that sensor is working fine. but i think the actual sensor in the engine is faulty. I read the manual the eclipse has 3 sensors for coolant.

any thoughts?

thanks
