I know I posted this before on this forum and another, but still don't have a clear answer (that I know of). When I bought my '07 Spyder it had no owner's manual. We ordered one from the dealership and once it arrived it is what I would call a generic one. It's listed for an '06 Eclipse and claims to cover all 4th generation models on the inside cover. The guy at the dealership said that's all that is offered. I called Mitsubishi and the customer service lady told me the same thing. The manual covers everything regarding my car except says NOTHING about the convertible part of the car.

For all you 4G Spyder owners........ what does your manual look like and does it mention anything about the top? Thanks for any info. Later!

just go buy a repair manual for it, it will be generic like the one you have, but it will go into detail of the workings of the car and all that. only thing i can think of....

The factory repair manual costs something like $300. If my memory serves me correctly he had an issue with the salesman saying something about manually opening or closing the roof and he wants to know how. My haynes manual for my 2g doesnt list that info. They also dont make one for the 4g cars yet. I dont know off hand if the factory service manual would list that info because I havent felt the need to go pay that kind of money for one.

what do you want too know about the top???
how too work it?
release the latches ...push the button...everything else it does for you...

manual release....remove the speaker grill in the middle of the back seat ..underside of grille should be manual release handle...in the hole above speaker is the spot for the tool...its a hex key and it fits in the tab sticking down..
push the tool towards the driver side..that will release the tonneau panel..pull the tonneau panel up...then there is a space under the hinges of the panel for the tool.
slide the tool thru the hole till it goes all the way thru the hinge..(note...hole in hinge is also shaped like tool) this will hold the panel up ...down in the well is another panel..open it and u will see the pump turn the manual release (little t shaped handle) this will release the pressure and 2 people can now either raise or lower the top...if it dosent work from the switch and makes a beeping noise and the little light flashes when u press the buttons...means there is a problem with top...return too nearest dealer so they can check it out ...
also dont ask the salesmen..(most of them cant even turn on the radio) find out who the mitsu tech at the dealer is and he should have gone too the school on it
and should be able too splain it too you also...
