im in iraq right now and will be back in a couple of months. i plan on comming home to a pile of parts to put on my 2003 eclipse gts v6. but i dont know what to get. i have a garage with all the tools i need at $4 an hour provided by the marine corps. so i would like to do most myself if it involves a wrench. electrical ill leave to profesionals. all ive done so far is new tires and rims "cause stock was leaking" and vortek generator. other then that its stock.

If you're on a budget, don't attempt to FI this vehicle. (Since you're in the Marines, I know you're on a budget). :)

i want it to be all motor. i just dont want to waste money on things or brands that wont put out.

If you want all motor, you will need to spend ATLEAST 10-15k on the 6G72 to get over 300HP. If that seems worth it to you, by all means - go for it.

The gts is in forza, it's free to add hp in a game

im justlooking to spend 4k to 5k max. just want to get my hands wet and learn more hands on. im trying to go to uti next fall so ill learn more then but i want more out of my car now. i was thinking under drive pulleys, new timing belt, cold air intake, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust pipes and cat, pulse plugs, plug wires, fuel injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, and reflash. but i havent priced things out yet and i dont know what is best for my money. prob not all of those things now but in time. i read a lot of magazines and i see a lot of things that i know adds hp or tq but its more for someone that is going to the track or professional.

The GTS is 10:1 compression - so your options are limited.

3kgt is DOHC, 3g eclipse is SOHC

thanks for the help i think im just gonna fix whats wrong and put a couple of engine parts on then turn to suspension and cosmetics. i guess ill enter it in local auto shows. see what i have.
