I have a 2000 Montero with 6G74 engine and the Factory Service Manual shows 60K miles and 120K miles. It also says 100K miles, but not required if previously changed. I know this isn't the same vehicle but maybe that will help you.

Also wanted to ask...what does bump meam? I've seen people write it but don't have a clue what it is. Thanks.

well i will answer my own question... 54k or 5 years which ever is sooner.. no need to renew the tensioner as its a solid piece of kit unlike many uk / european manufacturer... tensioner shouldnt need changed till the third belt change and even then it would probably be ok.. costs timing belt 30 pounds a full kit incl tensioner between 80 - 100

Bump is a term used in forums just to put a post back up to the top of the ladder
