not enough back pressure for your turbo to spool up you need a test pipe they are like thirty dollars on ebay if you dont want a cat that bad

The best Exhaust for a turbo charger is no exhaust at all. Any type of back pressure on a turbo vehicle is a restriction and will cause less power.

Your problems have nothing to do with running open DP

turbos create backpressure for your motor so the exhaust has nothing to do with getting the incorrect amount of backpressure

I dont know if the turboed awd vehicles are the same but my RS has two oxygen sensors. There is one just after the cat. If you remove the cat you would have to flash the code out of the computer otherwise your car will not run correctly.

+1 with EMC and militaryman, back pressure for EFI engines is a myth. it is only relative to carbureted engines and NEVER applicable to these vehicles unless discussing how to eliminate it. Again, YOU DO NOT NEED ANY BACK PRESSURE.

dsm505 what other mods did you do at the same time? or did you just remove the cat and then put it back?

Isn't there an O2 sensor after the cat? If there is, then it might be that the ECU was getting a wierd signal from it and tried to correct it. Then you put the cat back in but the ECU is still trying to fix the initial problem. Did you disconnect the battery for a few minutes?

It is usually the simple things that fixes the major problems...

+1 it might have been on it's way out and when you removed the cat back the increased flow might just have pushed the sensor over the edge.

PS i like your DSM dukes of hazzard avatar :gitara:
