I bought a 95 3000gt in october and ive had to fix some things on it already. Like the alternator and it had a bad tick in it which was solved with some Marvel mystery oil and an oil change. And the trim were the window touches the door on the outside is chipping awaying showing the silver metal part. the rubber peice that presses up against the window is dry rotted and is barly hanging on to the door. Will i have to buy a new door?? or can i replace that?? From what i saw it seems to be made into the door. What should i do?

no! its separate part, open the window right down at each end of the strip there should be a small hex screw behide the end rubbers, there may also be one in the centre too! undo these and it should prise off, be careful when doing this as if they get bent or deformed you will never get it to fit back properly

What would be the exact name for this item? Idk where to even start to look to buy it. Is it going to be expensive or just tough to find??

It's a dealer item. I think they're like $60 for a pair? or something like that.

It's called the window trim. Tell the guy at the parts counter what it is, and he'll know what you're talking about.

ahh. my bad :)

It depends what years you're referring to.

91-96... the only differences were basically what options were available.

97-99... base models were SOHC, different wheels, fewer options, etc. SL's in 97-99 were all DOHC... same as 91-96.

Those are the essential differences.
