hey guys it got rained out while workin on my block i had went to the shop n got all the parts i needed and relised that i still might need sunthin. it is the automatic tensioner. i have the 1 that came off my block but it looks like its missin a piece it is almost like the 1 in the first pic but i dont have a pin for it. but in my haynes book it shows it lookin like that other pic the 1 that is L shaped it the one im the book i have but i did research and that style was for a 94 eclipse and maybe the part i have will work let me know what all u can bout this part thanx

though out the years mitsubishi made differen version of that auto tensor. get it for your year.

yea i dod more research and found out it was the right one i just cant get it on cuz the dam thing is hart to compress and i dont have a vice to do it. but tomorrow ill be gettin a c clamp and hopefuly will have it runnin. and also woud it be better to put the head on and set the timin or put the block in and then put the head on n time it?

Use a vise to compress it and a mini allen wrench for the pin. I would get a new one however. The tensioner takes the slack out of the timing belt. Replacing the belt is a hard job and I wouldn't want to do it over again because the tensioner is worn out.

i went to advanced auto and used there vice since i had to get oil and ps fluid and all that
