hey guys do we have 15 gallon tank or a 12 gallong tank? The reason i ask is because my fuel gage was all the way down to the empy so i went to fill up the tank. I notice that when i reached the 11 gallon mark the nozzel stopped. i kept filling up but it kept stopping after each gallon that was put in tank. i ended up putting only like 14 gallons cuz after i reached the 14 mark it was constanly clicking on me....i was basically running on fume so i figure i be putting 15 gallons on car but it started clicking at 11....

If only there was some kind of manual that gave us all the information for our cars...

15.5 gallon capacity. You get 3 different reminders telling you that you are running low on fuel. The first one is the "REFUEL" that you normally see when you fall below a 1/4 of a tank. This is only temporary and your dashboard screen will return you to the MPG calculator/trip odometer/whatever. The second one tells you the same thing, but it freezes up the dashboard screen and you can't bypass it. It usually happens when you fall below 1/8th of a tank. The last one turns the fuel bar into LOW FUEL, so you know you need gas. This happens when you are pretty much on your last gallon. If you didn't get the last indicator, then you may have topped off the tank one too many times.

It is :offtopic: time!

Your car will start sputtering and die out before you are really "empty." Believe me, I know when to call it quits and fill up. One time in my 1993 Camry, I wanted to see how far I could push the limit. Passed up a gas station and my car started idling funny. I figured enough was enough and I turned around. As I was coasting to the green light, the car died out and just started rolling... and rolled right next to a gas pump. How convenient!

18.14 gallons. 1993 Camry's have an 18.5 gallon tank and mine got about 16 miles to the gallon. Somebody up there really loves me.

I would never do that unless I have a couple of gallons in a backup canister in my trunk. It is not good anyway for your fuel filter to go all the way down to empty.

I get the premature pump clicking all the time as well, even if I use the lowest flow speed. Once it clicked on me 2 gallons before top off.

my $0.02

Heh, my parents bought the car at 65,000 miles... it didn't officially become my car until around 110,000. The car already had thousands of beater miles when my mom and dad were driving it and God knows what else when my sisters had it. Just before I got my Lancer, I did a tune up, replaced the front struts and shocks, and put in a new radiator.

I don't get the premature clicking though. Oddly enough, I don't see a difference when using the other flow speeds either. They all seem to pump at the same speed, regardless of how far you pull the lever.

The whole 3 warnings thing does not seem to apply to my Lancer. I just get one where it dings at me and turns the little info center Orange and gives me a triangle with an exclamation point in it. My navigation also says ----- miles til empty, but when it first does this it usually just recently said 30 miles til empty.

i will guess the premature clicking happens when we reach the 12 gallons marks. I had this **** problem wit my 05 mustang. Every time i pumped gas, no matter how full the tank was i had to fight with the clicking. Hopefully this does not happen alot being the first time i fill the car up. I dont want to play the guessing game with the car wondering if i filled it up every time i go to the gas station. Although, It looks nice when u get the clicking and the price shows you filled with 30 dollars and when you get in car your missing 1/4 of a tank
