I have a 97 eclipse rs. When im driving it runs perfect but when i come to a stop light, it stutters and dies. i replaced the fuel pump strainer and filter and it still does it. i can go for bout a week with no problems and then it starts acting up. when i try to start it back up it takes about 3 tries but it cranks up. if i dont drive then and let it idle it dies again. any help would be great. thanks

Not entirely sure, but it could be the fuel pump, relay, injectors, or even something on the exhaust side, like the O2 sensor being gummed up. There is quite alot to newer cars that keeps them running right. If it ain't mechanical, it's more than likely electrical. If it ain't electrical or mechanical, then you need to find a priest who can do exorcisms!

Also, this would probably get more attention if it was moved into the 1g/2g sub forum, which I am sure a mod will do when they see it...

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

on the drivers side firewall there are 2 or 3 relays near the brake fluid resovoir. the one that is the farthest right (when facing them) should be your fp relay

check your idle air controller also. its located on the throttle body. clean it up and clean up your throttle body
