im considering buying the OBX Exhaust Headers for my 97 gs 2.0
the stock cast iron exhaust manifold gets extremly hot and is making my engine bay like a oven does this seem like a plan to help cool things off under there

i say go ahead it wouldnt hurt i dont think it cools it much but hey what the hell do i know i could be wrong

so but i would go with a different radiator if you want to cool things off

and if you really want to cool it off go with out a hood JK lol

Yeah, your wrong. Do not use OBX parts.

The heat is there because the hood traps it there, not because of the cast iron header.


OBX makes cheap products that have been known to fail. Save your money and buy something from a company that actually cares about quality.

so your saying a stainless steel header wouldnt reduce the heat compared to the cast iron

That is correct in fact it's gonna get a heck of a lot hotter with any aftermarket header.
Mine has melted a small part of the fan casing because it's so close to the header but it has not gotten worse.
Small motors get hot as hades because that's just the nature of the beast.

Oh yea dude is right get a better quality header unless you just want to mod her for now and dump her real soon.

I have a header not top of the line but neither is it the bottom of the barrel like e-bay flea-bays :grin:

or wrap it with "header wrap" or heat tape
