Its too weak. It won't even do half the power you need.

This one is what you need:
800 rms

It will run them at 800rms each. They can handle 1000. You will be running at about 80% of their capable power, which is about perfect.

Yes he would. Dual 4ohm makes it a 2ohm sub or an 8ohm sub.

So he could power it a 1000rms, and its rms max is 1100

Dude I looked at that model number amp at Wal Mart, and on the box it says it only does 165watts or 365watts by 2 channels at 4 ohms. Bridge them together and either way it's not gonna be enough power to run that sub.

Dude, I called Sony and Crutchfield(just cause i don't trust sony). The amp does 375wRMS by 2 at 4ohm. Meaning that it does 750wRMS by 1 at 4ohm. It does 500w RMS by 2 at 2ohm. Meaning that it does 1000RMS by 1 at 2ohm

Don't mess with the expert.

That's true, I forgot about the whole you can't trust Sony even about their own products.

but if i was going to get that i would have to upgrade my alternator or add another battery right? because i don't know if the stock one would handle that amp.

and to just add this in im going to get some new 6x9 and 6 3/4 speakers and there going to be infinity.

6 3/4:

6x9:

now would i just need an amp for the 6x9's for both?

That sony amp will do the two subs.

Then you will need a second amp to do the speakers. However... you do not NEED to amp up the aftermarket speakers.

Also, since your amp is doing 1000RMS, you will need to get a cap, but you don't need a second battery or bigger alternator. A cap will only strengthen the power to the amp however, it will keep your headlights from dimming, but it will not strengthen the entire electrical system.

I have a 1600RMS amp in my car and am only running a 1farad cap. No dimming, and not a single alternator problem after 3 years.

yea i was kind of finguring that i needed to amp both the smaller speakers i found this one amp but i think it might be to much for the 6 3/4:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6771_A...ahn+A4004V.html

and pluse i don't have to worry about a cap i already have a 3 farad.

No the first infinity 6 3/4 were rated at 75watts RMs and that Amp does 50watts RMS. you would be fine.

Cause they are 4ohm not 2ohm. If you run those two at 4ohm you will run them at 50 of their possible 70ish.

Then you run the 6x9 at 2ohm They will run at 100 of their possible 110ish.

shit. didn't see that.

Oh well. The amp will have two seperate gain controls. Turn the gain down on the 2 channels that are powering the 6.75's and you will be fine.
