I recently bought what is known as the "California Car Duster" because my friend suggested I get one. So I did... and after 48 hours of letting it sit on newspaper, I gave it a whirl.
This thing is awesome! Cleans the car lickity split and leaves a nice shine too! You don't need any water, soap, or anything. Just give the car a light dust and voila! Sparkle sparkle!
I saw it at my local Target for $8, but I picked one up at AutoZone for $9 because the AutoZone one came with the black carrying bag. Apparantely, the dirtier it gets, the better it works... but I'll be the judge of that.
Highly recommended!

QUOTE(Yoemama @ Jul 13 2008, 09:39 PM) how many use's do u think u can get out of it? They say that the dirtier it gets, the better it cleans... and I'll be honest, the more I use it, the cleaner my car gets. All you really need to do is shake out the excess dust before and after using it. QUOTE(Overlord661944 @ Jul 14 2008, 04:03 PM) (IMG: http://www.ultimateautoaccessories.com/Images/Gift_Ideas/CarDuster-62446.jpg) It's a car duster. It's perfect for the dry summer season. I use this thing every time I park my car in the garage. In less than 5 minutes, my car is spotless. Just avoid getting it on your windows... it seems to leave a waxy residue.

QUOTE(hix09lancer @ Jul 15 2008, 04:11 PM) it wont scratch the paint or anything with all the dust/dirt it holds? Nah, it holds on to dust pretty well. You're supposed to give it a good shake before and after each use. QUOTE(master.axu @ Jul 15 2008, 05:27 PM) I assume it is for the interior not for the paint... Edit: Never mind, I checked their website, it's for both You could use it on the interior, but avoid the fabric. It will leave dust on fabrics, but it's perfect for smooth surfaces.

QUOTE(lancerpower4b11 @ Jul 18 2008, 09:16 AM) I might buy one lol, seeing how its gets dusty and what not a quick wipe and ill be getting looks from everyone. It's PERFECT for black cars. I showed it to my friend who has a black 2003 Mustang GT and he said he heard about it. I demonstrated mine and he was impressed. This thing DEFINITELY helps cut down on washes. I also bought a squeegee... in case it rains

QUOTE(fullmetalpanic @ Aug 16 2008, 09:29 PM) When I put mine down on newspaper, it soaked up all the extra wax. It doesn't leave as many streaks that way I think. I got mine at target, I think for like 10 bucks or something. They have a smaller one for the dash... anyone have that one? I can't imagine it would have the wax on it like the outside one. Yup... it's coated with a light layer of parafin wax, the newspaper absorbs as much as possible so it doesn't leave anything on your car. I saw the smaller one for the dashboard, but after a month's worth of using mine, it's safe to use on the dashboard as well. It's just a little large and clunky, but it gets the job done. And as for the grease, it's only supposed to be used for dust and light layers of dirt. You know how your car gets after driving it for 2 weeks without rain or water hitting it? This thing is perfect for cleaning THAT off your car. Mine is slowly turning black because of all the use I've put on it, but it still works like a champ. I've even started using it on my windows and it leaves no streaks!

You're pressing too hard! I got swirl marks on my Lancer, but that's only because I went through those darn drive-thru car washes. Those are the reasons why you get swirl marks.
I've been taking my car to Lucky's car wash about once a month and they use a spray on wax. Swirl marks are no more! Pretty good job too... they pressure rinse the outside, hand wash, wash the rims, pressure rinse again, spray on wax and Rain-X, use a pressurized hose to dry, hand dry the rest, rinse the rubber mats, vacuum the inside, clean all the interior windows, and wipe down the dash and doors.
All that for $18 plus tip. It's worth the money, but the duster keeps a lot more money in my pockets :gunsmilie:
