This redesigned 2008 EVO X Carbon Fiber Hood is just what you car needs to give that competition look. Carbon By Design has re-shaped the center scoop so that more fresh air enters the engine bay by the turbo. Also, the side vents have been enlarged and deepend into the engine bay so that more of that hot air from the intercooler has a better chance of escaping. Remember, If your engine is running cooler, you are making more power, made with Aerospace carbon fiber. Latch is fastened on hood.

Looks good man, did it come with any precut holes, the washers are obvously not there but what about the hood support or the holes for mounting?

it did come with precut holes for the mount, just needed to buy 4 bolts and washers, need to do some drilling to transfer all the rubber stoppers that came with the stock hood.

Nice! That makes the car look "that much" more mean :)
I wish I had the money for that... thought here by carbon fiber would probably crack during winter...

I dunno, it drops to roughly -45C (roughly -50F) for at least a good couple weeks during winter here.
Someone was telling me that CF is more susceptible to damage or cracking at low temperatures, and that's pretty low...
I guess it would really depend on the type of CF, I'm sure there are different composites.

drake12483 got any insight on this?

i don't really recommend having a carbon fiber hood during extreme temperatures, my brother-in-law in calgary puts back his stock hood during winter, and puts the carbon fiber when the weather settles down. it's kind of a hassle putting it on and off, it's really up to you, I'm glad we have nice weather most of the time down here in California.

there must b a reason why real carbon fibre r so costly. why some part of the space shuttle r made CF, outer space temperature r extream low. why Boeing n Airbus fuselarge also implement CF. Because CF r so durable and light weight. CF r so stable in all weather. FERO Laser Scanner Arm r also made of CF.

it's also not just about the temperature, during the winter time, there are more debris on the road that can do little specks of damage on your hood.

That looks sweet. I'm so ordering this right now. I was already looking for something like this and this one caught my attention. Although I'm not a big fan of Carbon Fiber, so my only concern is that if the Fiberglass comes in black? I'll give them a call in a bit and find out.

Thats really not a bad price for the hood, might have to convince my husband its something I HAVE to have. If you're paying that much its gonna be real c/f or there something wrong with the business.
Only way you're gonna get "semi" c/f is if you apply a vinyl. That hood ain't no vinyl
Hows the weight difference in it? Our hoods are heavy as ****!

this hood is lightweight compare to the stock hood, i was able to carry it with one hand, meaning any average person would be able to carry it, although it would be a two man job during installation. :gunsmilie:

I tell people that my hood already is carbon fiber... I just had it color matched to my car :bwekk:

Seriously though, I think the hood looks great... I just like having my car one color all the way around
