Look at your dash lights. Are they bright? do they almost die out when you turn the key?

Is your starter making any noise?

Starter sometimes makes a slight noise just after the car starts like some of the bushings in the starter need to be greased. but it always started. the battery is full power and car is turning over perfectly all sounds ok, all the lights on the dash look ok except the rev hand jumped once or twice, i thought then it might have being a bad earth

if you can get under the car give the starter motor a tap and see if it starts
then i would get a new starter....

if it doesnt do anything then high chance its to do with top of the engine

When you initially turn the key on, does the check engine light turn on and then turn off 5-10 seconds after or does it stay on?

The starter is indeed turning the engine when you are trying to start the car?

Check for fuel and spark while cranking the engine (will take 2 people) to make sure it is getting both. Report back with what you find.

If the tach is jumping, it sounds like it would either be a bad power transistor unit (which is located under the ignition coils) or possibly a bad ecu.
