I have an '08 Endevour leased new about 3 months ago. It comes with 6 months free Sirius. Last night, the Sirius channels stopped displaying -- when you push the AM/FM/SAT button, it would cycle through AM - FM1 - FM2 - SAT 1 - SAT 2 - SAT 3 - SAT 4 and then back through AM etc. Now, it only cycles through AM - FM1 - FM2. Turns out, you have to register the radio for the free 6 months (according to the Owners Manual). So, I go to register the radio and it needs the internal number for the radio, which you locate by turning to Satellite channel 0. My problem is -- since it will not cycle through the satellite settings, I cannot turn to channel 0 to get the code. I have gone through all of my paperwork and can't find where Mitsubishi provides the code anywhere else. And I called the dealer service dept. and they had no ideas, either (other than to drop the car by and they would look at it).

Any ideas? Thanks

it should ALWAYS display channel 184 on the SAT setting.
that sould be where the code displays (I think).
you could try unhooking the battery for a bit.

:57: hey whats going on... i wouldnt unhook the battery just for the reason that mitsus are known to have to have the throttle body cleaned right after you unhook the battery due to that you reset the sensors. n e way. here is what you do. call 1-888-539-sirius(7474) to activate the free 6 month trial period. i believe you will also need the vin number to your vehicle and just follow the step by step instructions on there to have your sirius activated. if you have any problems let me know. :gunsmilie:

um..
did you read what he wrote?
he needs the RADIO number, not the VIN. the radios are not (nor ever have been) VIN sensitive.

also, the endeavors are drive-by-wire. Even if the throttle is dirty, it will idle fine.

ofcourse i read what he wrote and i answered his question. i mentioned that i dont recomed he disconnects his battery due to the sensors not to do anything with the throttle linkage. and the radios have never been vin sensitive but he is not asking for a radio code for his radio he is asking to get his sirius connected. i also mentioned that he might need his vin... im assuming they need it to register his car. here im gonna attach a little picture to help see things a little more clearly. since reading its not a strong point.

Thanks - both of you. The paperwork says I need the radio's satellite id number. And, by the way, I unhooked the battery before I posted, just for a minute or so, with no luck. But, I went ahead and called Sirius and they tell me to take the car to the dealer, that either:

1. the satellite portion of the radio has become disconnected/loose wire, etc.; or
2. The satellite portion of the radio has been fried and the radio (or part) needs replaced.

He said that even if my subscription went inactive, the radio should still cycle through satellite mode. The number alone wouldn't help, the radio would have to be on and tuned to channel 184 for him to activate.

Thank you both - I guess I will be off to the dealership. That's another complaint - my local dealer sold out 3 weeks after my purchase, and now I have to trek to Huntsville, about 30 miles. Not far, but not convenient, either.

Again, many thanks,

Jeff

***UPDATE****

I am posting this update in the event this happens to someone else. It was not the radio, the antenna, or anything else. Prior to going to the dealer, I noticed that the auxilliary plug in the backseat, which I use to charge my phone, was not working. Suspecting the charger, I tried it up front where it worked with no problems. So I knew a fuse must have blown. Popped open the fuse panel and started checking, and found a '15' fuse was indeed blown. Ran to Auto Zone, popped in a replacement, and guess what - the satellite radio started working again. Undoubtedly, the satellite radio is not on the same fuse as the regular radio. Sooooooo, if this happens to you, try the fuse panel.

Jeff
