I received a call on my voice mail related to the new Eclipse I bought last month. The caller said she was calling because, "...as you know, you will be receiving a Navigon 2100 navigation unit." She wanted to confirm my address, which she read out, and said that if the address is incorrect I should call 888-648-7820 and ask for the Navigon department. Otherwise, the unit would be shipped out to my address via UPS.

This was all news to me. I haven't called the number because I first figured this was some kind of sales pitch for the GPS unit and I normally don't respond to unsolicited phone calls. But I google'd the phone number and see that it's a legitimate Mitsubishi phone number.

Anyone know what this is about or receive a similar phone call? As I said, I don't like responding to unsolicited phone calls so I don't plan on calling them back. I'll just wait and see if the device comes to me.

never heard about that. would be very sceptical cause if its an indash system theyy would send you a few things but who knows. keep us informed.

Just a brief update. I called the 888 number that was left on my voice mail and it was a legit Mitsubishi number. I spoke to a customer service rep. who told me that I was to receive the Navigon 2100 as part of a promotion for purchasing the car. I'm due to receive it within four to six weeks. I still haven't been able to find any documentation about this promotion, anyone else heard of this? I'll post an update when I get the device.

I received the GPS. Along with it came a letter from Mitsubishi addressed to 'Dear New Eclipse Owner' and it said, "Thank you for your recent purchase. As a symbol of our appreciation, enclosed is a NAVIGON 2100 personal navigation device..."

It's a nice GPS, my first.

It could have just been a promotion that your salesperson failed to remember to mention.
