QUOTE(cup1chris @ Jul 16 2008, 10:34 PM) There was a how-to somewhere a while back. Finally got to it. Tell me what you guys think. Also going to post some pics of my debadged trunk and painted fastkey button soon. I tend to keep other keys with my fastkey too, so I wouldn't want the paint getting scratched off. Looks great though. Kudos!

QUOTE(Greyso @ Jul 23 2008, 11:27 PM) Hey just wondering what you used to do this....... Props to you..... That looks great...... How did you measure it out.... Thanks For the help... Theres a detailed how-to somewhere in these forums, can't seem to find it. But in a nutshell Step 1. Buy Black Primer , Gloss Enhancer Spray Paint, Chrome Lining 2. Take out the middle chrome part and paint it. 3. Lay out the lining, no measurement, just lay it out and cut.

QUOTE(cup1chris @ Aug 1 2008, 03:42 PM) I did some painting! Im going to redo this btw, any tips on prepping the engine cover, the paint is starting to peel. Any recommendation on what types of paint? That's my debadged back with a primer'd button. Ooohh look an iphone. Looks good, but the image is topsy turvy! Dupli-Color heat resistant paint is the way to go. There's no need to primer the surface, but it makes the job easier since you can see what areas have been painted on a lighter surface as opposed to a darker one. Make sure you give the paint time to dry. I left it in my hot trunk for about an hour then put it in my engine bay. After driving for 20 minutes and letting it "bake" in my engine for another 2 hours, the paint dried up to a nice crust. It's not smooth since I didn't clear coat it, but it looks great!
