Hi guys. I have a 1998 Eclipse RS (automatic transmission). My top tranny mount (the one directly under the battery tray) is busted and its causing all of my other mounts to go as well. Normally this wouldn't be a problem BUT every auto parts store lists a different mount in their inventory then the one I took off my car. The mounting holes and shape are totally off. I am starting to think that the transmission may have been swapped before I bought it. If so, what transmission are compatible with my year model eclipse? I really need help finding the right mount before other things start breaking because of it.

NOTE: I have never had problems finding any other parts to my car and I've had no problem finding all three of the other mounts either.

go to a dealer and let them go from your VIN. sometimes parts stores hire chimpanzees to run their counters :banana:

Goto a Dodge dealer and see what it would cost you for one for a Talon ESI. From my experiences it will be cheaper that way.

Could someone let me know what tranny is in my eclipse so that i can try to cross reference it with other cars to see if their mounts fit the mounting bracket thats in my car? (Besides the Talon, of course)

any 97-99 eclipse, talon, avenger, sebring, stratus, cirrus 2.0L DOHC non turbo vehicle should have the same mounts

^^^ 95 and 96 eclipse rs and gs and talon esi should have the same mounts also.
