OK, so I've had a problem with my car since I bought it... It seems to hit fuel cut at max boost with the stock T-25. (It jerks a couple times at WOT around 3-4k and sometimes higher)
I have a GReddy type RS BOV on the car and a K&N filter. Not really any other performance mods. I was told to adjust my BOV spring and I did, and it helped a little, but not much.
So here's what it comes down to: I was reading that if you are running too lean, you can get a lumpy idle. I have always had a lumpy idle.
If the car is running too lean accross the board, that could possibly have an affect on the fuel cut symptoms, right? If that is the case, it could simply be that a previous owner could have put on a new MAF and the adjustment screw was a little off, so this whole problem that has been pestering me this entire time, could be solved by simply turning a screw?
AM I INSANE? :460:
side notes: I didn't even think of this until I read the RRE upgrade path that rob hinted at in another post. They were discussing removing the side honeycombs (no intentions of doing that) and they discussed the screw and lumpy idle. The reason I never really tried to fix it before was I don't usually beat up my car, and I am planning on a turbo upgrade in october and figured when i upgrade the fuel system, it would clear up.

Take a look at my thread... I'm going through a similar dilema. Maybe it will shed some light. I have the K&N and similar BOV as you. The difference between us is I have a bigger turbo, but similar symptoms as you. More to come on this thread, so stay tuned. http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t37400-he...-plugs-lean.htmIt could be something else as well, and I'll let the pros take over from there. I know this is not a "you are definitely running lean" telltale sign, but I'd pull the plugs to see if they are white.

QUOTE(HMatt @ Jul 17 2008, 05:29 PM) But would that explain the lumpy idle?
No. But your car being a DSM would explain the bumpy idle :P Prolly a hacked MAS. How much are you boosting. Cuz if its not over 15 you are not fuel cutting.
