QUOTE(awilson @ Jul 17 2008, 05:18 PM) Ok so i just bought this 2000 Eclipse GT and it looks all fine and nice, but when im driving around and i have to stop at a red light for more than 10 sec the RPMs start to like jump but not high, it barely makes it to 1, but its enough that you can feel the car sort of jump.. idk what it is and i cant really figure it out.. if anyone else is having this problem or anyone knows what it is and how to fix it please tell.. thanks Also if anyone could tell me how or what could make my muffler rattle, it sounds like a nail or a screw is in there, but idk.. For your idle it could be any number of different things. But does it rev up and back down then back up and back down until you start moving or does it just rev up and stay there til you keep moving? And for your exhaust it could be as simple as you have a hangar loose that is rattling around or you could actually have something in your exhaust.

Thats very similar to what happens when you disconnect your mass airflow sensor. dirty or defective sensor most likely
