I was goin home last night and I came across one of my friends in his moms camaro. Its got a 305 stock with and automatic tranny. My car was turbod but I sold it when I lost my liscence so Im back down to N/A until the end of this month. I asked him to race JK with him and he said no. So on the way to our house he tried to come around me and I threw it in third and started pulling away from him. It surprised the HELL out of me! All I have now is a cold air intak and a cheap catback. But he flashed his lights and we tried one more time. Once again I left him! He blamed it on the auto and that might have been it. But it still made me feel good outrunnin a car with four more cylinders!!

Sorry, but I don't believe you beat a camaro.

That thing has 205hp and about 325tq. Either that car was in bad condition, or he wasn't trying. Considering my 1g ran a 14.9 and I couldn't beat them, I seriously doubt that you could in the 2g.

Beleive me or not it really doesnt matter to me lol. He was tryin to cause he told me he was. The car is an late 80s or early 90s camaro RS automatic with a stock 305. It has a miss to it too where it needs plugs or wires. But I didnt post to see who all would think im lyin. It happened and I won, believe it or not IDK. I just thought it was cool that I won. You know most you guys are haters.

Actually it might be possible...

He says it was an older, bone stock Camaro. Although it would be easier to pinpoint the engine with a pic or something, but according to wikipedia, the 305 before the 80's only had 155 horses. And I don't think that's even to the rear wheels yet.

Actually, it stayed under 200 all the way through to '88 with the L69, although 190 isn't anything to scoff at. The weight of the car, coupled with the automatic transmission might be a disadvantage versus a lighter, manual-equipped 4-banger.

So it is possible... and I'll be the first to say congrats. But I am sorry to also be the one to have to say..... PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! LOL!

EDIT: Dagnabbit, it took me a while to post... anyways, these seem to be between the LG4, pushing 150, up to the 215 mark in the LB9....

Ok here it is 1992 Camaro stock 305 with Auto tranny and a miss. Motor pics will have to wait til tommorrow cause you have to slam the hood to shut it and it will wake his parents.

Ummmm......

I am a camaro, mustang, and corvette buff.

If it is an RS, it did not come stock with a 305. The RS is a 6cyl with the V8 body kit.

LOL! Mustangs...oh...ahem..sorry...just not very nice to fords these days...

Anyways, my homie has a 69 Charger and he bro has a 71 Chevelle... they tried to learn me on those older muscle cars, but I figure, until I get one, I'll stick with the basics, and worry about the details of my current car.

Side note: Camaros and Corvettes....FTW...love chevy and am starting to take a liking to dodges...

ON TOPIC: I was just messin' 'round about the pics or it didn't happen thing... but that is a beautiful green. Also, I am completely in the dark about 'miss'ing, but it sounds bad. But alls fair in a street race!

well its there and it does have a 305 in it. Thats what he told me, his dads a mechanic surely to god he would know. But I mean its whatever. If you dont believe me cool if you do cool. But dont act like you know what the camaro has cause your not here. Its RS with a 305. The auto tranny hurt the race and so did the miss. I know I cant go around tromping on V8s with my N/A 4 cylinder. I just got lucky is all. My car was lighter and a 5 speed. Like I said I just got lucky.

I would hope to god too... especially knowing that he's working on other peoples' cars.

Don't worry, I believe it's possible. My 96 RS was taking on a Ford Ranger, Auto, V6... until I missed 3rd... like you said, you got lucky. If it were me, I'd be all over the interweb bragging up a storm! Just to tick people off! Just...outta nowhere, be like, "So anywas, on Two and a Half men last night... I BEAT A CAMARO WITH A 305! IN YO FACE!"

But all in all, I think ANY victory over ANY engine larger than ours deserves praise, no matter the reason.

I can believe it. I have a friend whose parents have a 90 Chevy station wagon with an OLDS 305 in it and is it ever a dog. I don't know much about camaros at all but if it had that same 305 in it I can definitely believe it.

I had a 78 and it only had 138- 150? with a 305 it was an auto and I could hang with a Mazda Rx7 so yea they can put the power to the ground his may have a lot of miles on it.

I sure miss that car too :(

The reason i said it can't have a 305 in it is because you said it was stock. Stock, the RS didn't come with a 305, so either the engine was swapped in, or something else crazy is going on.
