Hi...ok i have a 97 eclipse gst and i got the error code p1400 and i guess it means the manifold pressure differential senser is giving an off reading......So im going to the junkyard to get one thats been tested to be okay. Doesnt the MDP sensor make shure the EGR is working okay? Does this maen theat the p1400 code could only be telling me thats its getting an off reading because the EGR is not working okay or could the sensor itself be bad? How can i figure this out? I've checkd for vacuum leaks in the line to the sensor but ive herd it could also be the head gasket or anywhere else that the map sensor measures vacuum pressure. But once again it might not even mean that there is a vacuum leak the sensor could have broken. IM SHURE YOU SEE THE PROBLEM I'M IN HERE AND HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Also i need to know a website to buy a new sensor in case the one from the junkyard is not there. thx alot

Its the manifold pressure differential sensor. it sits right on the top of the manifold and is clearly visible. i just called it a map sensor because thats what everyone calls it.......

gs-t's don't have a MAP sensor unless you installed it aftermarket, in which case we need to know what your other mods are.

what symptoms are you having or did it just throw a code?
