i had to change the MPD sensor on my 97 eclipse gst auto and when i was done i took off the - battery cable for about a half hour. now my idle is too low. it stays at 1000rpm but whenever i stop fast at a stop light it putters down to 500rpm and stalls.....Will that computer slowly learn the correct idle speed or do i now need a tune up for pretty much crearing the ecu?I thought the ecu re learned the engine settings when u drove it for a bit. does it?

your ECU should relearn but it might need a kick in the junk.

when the engine is completely warm and the fans have cycled on/off 2-3 times adjust the idle to 750rpm using the BISS. then put it in gear to make sure everything is ok. if it tries to stall open the BISS a nut hair more.

thx but its weird sometimes it idle's at 750 and sometimes it idles at 500 and a little rough. And like i said in my other post when i drove it last night i went around a car and the rpms reved but the car didnt move faster so i let off the gas and it shifted into the next gear why????
i put trans-x or whatever to help reduce the hard shifting and to protect the tranny.
