I used to see that these older model Diamante's/Magna's had trunk mounted inertia switches for the fuel pump. Ive seen when people run out of petrol the switch is triggered, and they have to reset it for the car to fire off. maybe Chain Rattle will have another perspective.

just an ordinary electric fuel pump in the tank

check the fuel filter isnt clogged

that model has a relay

from the repair manual " section 13 -fuel system"
you need to depressurise the fuel line

one method
remove the fuel relay fuse then replacing the fuse (in the engine bay)
so the car can run

another way is to undo the fuel line at the fuel rail then doing it back up

Awsum stuff , i onlee added because i kno older model Diamante's and awd Diamante's in my year here are fitted with inertia switches (in case of roll over etc) but sumtimes are triggered when a person runs out of gas.

But yeah id perform the checks that Chain Rattle has suggested , hopefully yu will come across with sumthing. If yu cannot find the fuse in the passenger compartment check the underhood fuse panel for the fuel pump fuse...if that wasnt already mentioned LoL
