QUOTE(Bo38 @ Jul 20 2008, 12:37 AM) i avg 30 mpg ... and it says 400miles left on the tank or whatever .... i allways noticed the gas gage was dumb ... dosent it just like jump down in 8th's or something ? only thing i dont like about the lancer.... now i got hail damage ... rail dust and this messed up thing! my luck The "miles to fill-up" takes your remaining fuel and multiplies it by your current MPG. If the gauge reads a 30 MPG average and you have 5 gallons left, the "miles to fill-up" should read about 150 miles. But I can't explain how you put in 8 gallons. That's more than half the tank! Dealership!

This happened to me except the tank was empty and my gauge was flashing, and i went to the gas station, put $20 in and it was still flashing!! I knew you didn't get as much gas for the money nowadays, but this was ridiculous!! The car being only 2 months old, I figured maybe the gas pump was broken, so I had the attendant come out and watch me fill it up, and sure enough, another 3 gallons and it was full. Haha...whoops...
