just thought id post up a pic of my van as i havnt done for a while. i just colour coded the bumpers... did a pretty good job i recon. ive installed a stereo i will get a pic on the weekend. ive lowered it 2 inches

i am very keen to do some engine mods to the van. its running dual fuel? i wanted to put a turbo on it in the near future. i was thinking of running it on straight gas with a turbo as i see GasResearch are doing some pretty cool stuff with gas and turbos. the van has done 200k and is auto. doesnt use any oil. i will be rebuilding the engine if i was to turbo it.

just wanted to know wat yby thought as u have turboed ur l300? my van is carby also. if i was to go turbo on petrol would i need the ecu and injector kits etc. if i was could i order them through ur work?

thanks for the input.. just wanted some ideas before i go all out...

hey

colour coding is just making your bumpers the same colour as your van, so if u had a van that is black, you'd spray your bumpers black, my van is white so i sprayed them white.. just something different i guess. Yer i will be getting some new rims for it soon! (tax back time :D)

How i did it was i got some very fine wet and dry sandpaper (i used 800grit) and remove your bumpers. wet them with a hose if you want, just make sure there is water all over it. sand them back all over. You dont have to be too fussy. Then i got a WHITE primer, sprayed the bumpers about 3 coats of the primer, then used a gloss white paint, i did about 3 coats of that too. then did one final coat of clear coat just to protect the paint. i found the easiest way was to put them on milkcrates like so:

these are the paints i used, only them two. http://www.speco.com.au/vht_quickcoat.html

my g/f works at repco so u can get them from there.. use white as the primer, and gloss white as the paint, here is the part numbers SP-301 (primer) and SP-509 (gloss white) just ask for them and ull get the right stuff. u will also need a clear coat remember.. i just used the australian export stuff, does the job. :-)
