For those who got theirs installed after you bought you're car, was there any space between the car and the sills? I just got them installed at the dealership, after the first time they put it on there were pretty large gaps, they redid and its better but there are still some small gaps. Now I had the front bumper extensions done also and those fit perfectly. They said those were screwed in while the sides were taped or something. Anyone else have this problem? What do you guys think I should do?

If that was the dealership work, seriously something is wrong.

Everything should fit pretty perfect or close to perfect since it should be Mitsubishi parts. Unless you bought a/m ones and took it to the dealer?

It looks like they just did a direct bolt on. The side skirts are supposed to be applied with both bolts AND the 3M adhesive.

Sorry man, but that is just awful! Take it back to the dealership and use one of the GTS's on the floor as a comparison. That is just shoddy work... even for a dealership.

They did use an adhesive. I already had them redo it once. They said the ones that are put on at a factory are heated and if you do it after it won't fit on as tight.

That looks horrible. Take it back before they say it is your problem to deal with.

That's utter BS. They shouldn't be supplying the part AND installation service if they can't duplicate the same effect as the manufacturer. If it's supposed to be heated, then why aren't they heating it?!?

DKTRL is an expert when it comes to the body kits on our cars, I'd ask him on how they are SHOULD be installed.

By look on the picture, sorry brother. This is really a big problem.
For standard fitting, the air dam extension should have plastic clipping fastener and 3m taped for the face attach. For under side of the chassis, it should have expansion plastic fastener and screw. There are standard pre-drill hole under the chassis from factory.

1) Your picture show the gap, it seem like the drill hole for the clipping fastener at your chassis is out of alignment (Up Down Side) side air dam extension should be sit to the chassis according the body shape. it actually call "male n female or in our team call mirror " For example a bolt outer thread and a nut inside thread must be the same size otherwise it will not grip properly. if the drill hole is out of the mirror alignment.(too low to the chassis) definitely it will not kiss nicely after install.
How that’s technician marked marking before drilling the hole? the side air dam extension from factory has provided the marking material, is a kind of foam with double side taped. this material will stick at the side extension the position for clipping holder. than firmly press the side air dam toward the chassis and let the double side taped market to contact with the chassis than remove the side air dam from the chassis. You can see the material will transfer from the side air dam to the chassis. After all this is the position the technician should drill on. Problem will always occur at this stage of transfer marking. By standard, the technician should make sure the side air dam position are at the correct position in place with the chassis. So, how the technician can confirm? It should tighten all screw under the side air-dam to the chassis first before it can firmly press the side air-dam toward the chassis for transfer marking. Otherwise, the marking may be transfer to the chassis either is too high or too low or to forward to the front or too backward to the rear. A mm out of alignment will cause a lot of difference. So the gap may be cause to the side extension twist of form or compress of form.

2) I believe the first time you installed the side air dam extension with the big gap are cause by the technician may be drill the hole out of the alignment and cause the side air dam either, twisted, compressed, too high or too low.

3) The second time when you went back to complain, the technician may be tried to rectify back the holes alignment to it correct position and enlarge the holes size on your chassis. That made the fitting became worst. Reason, once the holes size has enlarge the fastener from the side air dam extension will never sit firm or hold tight your side air dam extension inplace with chassis and cause it a gap. From the picture can see very clearly the fastener did not hold tight the side air dam extension in place.

4) However, to solve your gap problem, 2 alternative.
1: take out your side air dam extension, cover up the holes with welding, than remarking and drill the holes back in position. Fit back your side sir dam extension.
2: Send your car back to the dealer and reclaim for a new car.

Remark: You must make fast to rectify this problem, otherwise, once the side air dam twisted shape has form, you will never have it to be rectify.

Thats just freakin horrible i hate when dealerships try to pull **** on customers. Its amazing how our members sometimes know more about our cars then the Mitsubishi technicians. I hope you get it fixed man good luck im not even taking mine to the dealership to get it done. I have a friend who does bodywork.

Ok, I've taken the car there 3 times now, and it is still not perfect. It is a lot better with only about two small gaps on both sides now. But the ends have large gaps. I called them and they said they could tap some screws in to hold the ends. I just don't have time to keep going there for 2-3 hours. Anyways anyone have some close up pics of theirs that I can compare? I wanna know how bad this really is and then I will call Mitsubishi's customer service and complain. I will try to post the latest pics if I can find my camera.

Did you inspect the work after you picked it up? I wouldn't have left until i visually inspected the part and if it wasn't right i would have made them redo it AGAIN!

Your dealership sucks >.<
