After reading this post
http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t18896-20...splay-noise.htm

i find myself asking "did you ever get this problem resolved?"

My wife bought a Colt Black Hawk in March and she has noticed the high-pitched monotonous whine ever since. It is driving her demented.

i took it to the local dealership today but they said it is present on all Colts and Mitsubishi describe it as "a characteristic of the vehicle"

Any advice on what to do next ?

The dealer advised last night that the noise is caused by the throttle body powering up. again they insisted that it is something that happens on all Colts but I find that hard to believe or there would be more people complaining about it. Anyone else had a similar issue that they have managed to get sorted ? Cheers.
