Yea Its the standard one. Its just a tape deck - there is no CD player or anything. When i trun the car on and teh sreto is off. its just shows the clock on teh LCD display .. obvesly teh clock is set to the wrong time.

When i switch the unit "on" by turning the volume control knob..

its just shows teh wrong code 4321.. that is a random code i punched in becuase i thought i would take a stab at unlocking it.

no matter what i do its the same. if the stereo is "on" the only thing that shows on the LCD is that code..

Is this a common problem? Mitshbishi said take it to your dealer..

If all else fails - I will simply replace the whole unit. but i really really dont want to have to that that !

why oh why was i stupid enough to enter teh worng code in :(

/sad..

diffrent head units they make , the codes are enter several ways. Which way do yu enter yurs? Ive seen it before on later units and Harmon-Kardon units lie in mine. Ive entered it wrung before , but all i did was just re-enter the correct code. When i entered the wrung code, it kept showing the old code, and i just reentered the correct one. On other later model units , the numbers are according to the preset keys , top ey for number up and bottom key for number down. Are yu finishing the process after entering the numbers? Are yu just entering the numbers? Cause if yu just enter the numbers and stopping after that , the process isnt finished.
