if you really want a strut bar (mostly for looks) just get a 15 dollar one off of ebay. thats what i did on my gst and it really did look great. 15 bucks is all. and like pwee said, they don't do anything (but add visual HP)

yes it does. think of it like this. strut towers and the sway bar forms the letter U. everything from the bottom is nice and strong, but everything from above is loose goose. by having that strut tower bar it is like forming a box so it is nice and strong and will not flex under any condition.

Dont get those cheap on ebay. they will brake under those conditions.

my point was, most people get them for looks (or think they get them for perfomance but never stress the car enough for them to come into effect)

so it you don't do time attack on a track and drive your car fairly normal or aren't taking corners at 60+ then you shouldn't need them right?

they may be useful on a 1g because of the lower a-arm and strut suspension.

on a 2g they are for show. they have a "floating spindle." basically your upper a-arm that mounts on either side of the strut, as well as the sway bar, lateral arm, and c-arm take the brunt of cornering force. 2g suspensions are far more advanced and have no need for additional bracing. UNLESS you are on a roadcourse time-attack, or rally driver. The struts see vertical forces, not horizontal

1G has stronger suspension
2g has more flexible suspension

you don't need the tower bar for just time attack or track days. hell i have a TRD tower bar on my corolla and it works great on canyon roads.

Chances are you won't see a difference with the strut bars.

You WILL see a difference with larger sway bars.

yeah if my corolla have s-way bar.

no matter if you have a strong bottom suspension set up. under any condition of turning your chase will still flex. you can feel it from the door and frame.
