What happens if I was suppose to put ATF+4 in the transmission and I put ATF instead will that mess up my transmission . Now when I pull the dip stick out it smells burnt. Now my car does not want to drive when I put it in drive. I also took it to the mechanic and they said that the dip sick was not the right one so there is no way to check the liquid levels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated , please leave your input :D

Well various ATF fluids have varying viscosities for certain transmissions and as is why they take certain types. The issue of the no drive is that the drive clutches in it may be burnt / have deteriated frum the viscosity of the fluid being to thin.
