Hey guys, I just joined the forums as I just purchased my first Mitsubishi Eclipse GT from California (I live in Canada).

Sofar the power's been great but one problem i have with the car is the speedometer LEDs... It's not bright enough at night, now my older car had a knob that could change the brightness but I havent found one yet

Noobie question, I know, but I dont have a car manual and the dealership wants to shoot me whenever I mention the car was purchased in the U.S! :P

Also, I gotta change the odometer from miles to kms and one of them told me I gotta reprogram it and somebody else (same dealership) said I gotta change the cluster and pay 900 bucks!! Anyone has any experience with that?

Oh, and daytime running lights... Do all the Eclipses come with that feature, I need to have it enabled to pass the importation inspection.... :(

Thanks alot

The brightness knob is also the odometer button to switch from regular to trip 1 and 2. Instead of pushing it you turn it.

Your probably going to have to replace the cluster.

And yes they have daytime running lights.

Oh and welcome.

thanks for your warm welcome and your help guy
Another newbie question, where is the knob located for trip 1 and 2??

Also, I went to a mitsu dealership here and i checked out their used eclipses... all of em were imported from the states and had miles speedometers but km odometers...
I asked the guy how they did it, and he said I'll have to take out the cluster and send it somewhere else to reprogram it...

really appreciate the help
