Yes,I did do the search but i couldnt find the answer to my problem,i have a 93 Mitsu Eclipse 5sp 2.0 NT fwd.I have no nightime illumination to my dash or hvac.I didnt put in an aftermarket stereo,or do anything to the wiring,
I just got into the car one day and they didnt work I removed the gauge cluster and hand checked every bulb with a meter. All bulbs check good. I have replaced EVERY fuse under the dash AND under the hood. The head lights work on low and high, the four way flashers work, the tail lights work, The turn signals work front and rear, the stop lamps work, and all marker lights work front and rear. All indicator lights in the dash work, but NO illumination to the gauges or HVAC controls! Ive even bought a new reostat! this is driving me crazy, any of you DSM gurus can help it would be greatly appreciated.

my interior lights in my dash like to blink and flicker whenever I hit the brakes or use the turn signals. My guess is it's not grounded or a bad wire somewhere along the way. They'll come back on eventually it's a huge mystery to everybody.

I was working on my stereo the other day (1g Talon TSI), and I had the same situation. Everything on the dash was still working, the gages, etc. and my headlights, tail lights, blinkers, and I believe my side markers... but the illumination on my dash just stopped working.

Like you, I checked every fuse under the dash, and found no problems... but, I did find a small 10 amp fuse under the hood on the passenger side of the car that was burned out. It was in the big black relay/fuse box next to the battery, and was indicated as "TAIL". I changed the fuse and everything worked fine.

Hope this helps.

thanks for all the suggestions guys, but i found the problem, after long deliberation with myself, wether or not to use my eclipse as target practice to break in my new sks.i found the bad ground..it was the ground at the firewall.and i was wandering why i was frying batteries?apparently.the previous owner must a fried a battery cause i took a look on the inside were the back of the ground was located and it was black!so i just drilled a new whole, and made a new ground, and taa daaaa!!!! everthing works! now on with the rest of the bs..thanks guys

Put an extra ground wire on either the thermostat, bellhousing, or block itself. you're lucky you just blew out a fuse. I went through 3 power ignition transistors before I though to check the ground.
