Yeah i got the engine together and put in and it ran extremely rough... tried moving the distributor and it needed to get moved more so i removed the dist. and i moved the crank to TDC and matched the mating marks on the distributor and slid her in... now it wont start at all... cylinder 1 spark plug looks brand new out of the box... 2,3 and 4 look like carbon and foulage. coil is putting out spark, wires are putting out spark, bought a new rotor, did a compression check and every cylinder is good. I'm pulling my hair out here! i dont get it i have checked the dist and its timing marks several times and tried moving the crank off of TDC a few degrees in both directions. tried feeding another fuel source through the intake and .... you see where i am getting at...

what to do?

oh yeah i know the timing belt is correct because i took my time on making sure of that... did it on the engine stand so i had an extremely good view of it.

i'm about to curl up in the fetal position and start crying...

when you have the compression stroke for number one cyl
it may be the spark has already happened

what you may have to do is move the dissy
to allow for the advance

that may mean a dissy cog movement either side of TDC
you are real close
