I just bought an 09 Lancer GTS in Rally Red Pearl about 2 months ago. About a month ago I was checking out the Mitsubishi Motors website and found out that for 09 they are affering a new color. (Rotor Glow Metallic) If I would have know that color was available at the the time. I would have gotten it on my 09.. Oh well have to wait a couple of years to get it on my new one I guess...lol
Has anyone actually seen this color on the new 09's? If so how does it look?

The picture on the website is a near accurate description of the color. I say near because the Octane Blue Pearl looks exactly the same as Electric Blue Pearl. All the other colors are pretty much spot on.

If I had to guess as to what it would look like in person, I'd say a shade lighter than the Nissan Murano's orange/copper blend.

Ever see a Mazda 6 in that color? Yeah, that's just about the same as what the Lancer would look like.

I'm waiting for this color to hit dealerships before I buy my GTS. I still can't find one in this color anywhere! Has anyone seen it yet? Does anyone know when they will arrive at the dealerships?

I've heard from the forum that it might be available at dealership around September time frame.

Just a guess, but I would imagine that you'd have to order that color. dealers probably are going to stock just the popular colors, ie: black, white, blue, red. I had a hard time finding black in a 5-speed. all the dealers had blue and white and red. i would imagine the rotor glow wouldn't be as popular a color as the standard colors, so mitsu might not even be shipping them until they get enough orders for it. that happened to me when I bought my last car, a toyota solara. the dealer didnt have the color i wanted, oceanus pearl, and they couldnt find one anywhere, so I had to order, but since toyota wasn't getting alot of orders for that color I had to wait until more people wanted it. after about 6 weeks and toyota still didnt even accept the order because of lack of orders for that color, i switched to black and they found one that day. if you want the rotor glow i would call some dealers and ask, and if you have to order...the sooner the better as you may have to wait.

If this is the same color as the Raliart they had at the New York Car show back in March then that color is HOT. I have pictures of it at home I can send when I get there (at work now).

I think it should be the same color just because they can use the same type of paint for both GTS and Ralliart.

According to my dealer the gts can't be ordered. He said right now the dealerships don't know what they are receiving and whatever shows up on the lot, that's what they have. Is that normal?

umm... I think they know what they ordered. It's not like Mitsubishi got a magic 8 ball and randomly distribute the Lancer to random dealership.

Rotor Glow Metallic will be an insanely popular color. People should have no problem getting one... especially a fully loaded GTS with all the trimmings :beer:

Love that color.... I think the dealers get certain cars based on their sales. It was that way with the Evo. The local dealer here in San Antonio had like 12 Evos the week they were introduced, cause they do a **** load of sales. It might be like that with the ralliart.
BD... you take those at the NYC autoshow @the Javitts? So **** I missed it this year.

Just started poking around.... so far only available on the GTS. You can't even click on that option for a DE or ES. They only put the good colors on the top end.

As with some colors....they either look good on the car or it doesn't.

People might not like this color in person...me on the other hand. I love it!
But I like more of the odd colors....so less people have them.
I almost bought the Lancer GTS in the snady goldish color.....just cuz I knew ALOT of people wouldn't have bought it....I think that it looked classy. Prob the same way people will feel about this color.

I dont think thats right. My dealer was certainly willing to order one for me when they didnt have exactly what I wanted. I never heard of a dealer saying sorry we cant get you one and let you walk out the door. Luckily for me when I went to buy my car my dealer told me they ordered a black 5 speed with the sun and sound/fast key package 2 months ago and it should be in any day. As we were haggling over the price in rolls the delivery truck with the black 5 speed. They told me they ordered that one.

This color has a $150 charge. At least on the ralliart.

They know exactly what they have coming in & as far as I know, they should be able to tell you what other dealerships are getting in as well.
Usual deal.....just trying to sell you what they had & not what they had coming in.
