So my question here is basically what are the pro's and con's of Each, the 14b and t28. I ask bc i have a 14b set up right now (uninstalled) and i got a sweet deal on a good t28. Ik max hp outta the 14b is 275-300 @20-ish psi.

What is the t28 rated at hp wise? Btw I autocross and ik both of them are prefered auto--x turbos

Is it? Im pretty sure thats the super 60 compressor wheel, thus making it a t28

there is a couple of T28 out there. that can do 400hp. something like the evo 3 16g turbo.

stock rated t28 makes 350 hp.

Im in the middle of purchasing a set of 550s (not finalized), 2g install and all the other supporting mods but im kinda leaning towards selling all my 14b stuff just so i can have the t28. I would be able to buy the t28 and all the fuel mods but i got arrested last night for underage possesion, consumption, open container, corrupting a minor and a few other thing. That cop was a D1CK! And my friend was 1 week away from his 18th, so i was "this close" to getting out of corrupting a minor (the worst offense).

Yeah it pretty much blows. All of the charges are misdemenor charges so technically i don't have to tell my parents (living with them till the 21st), if they do find out tho im SOL....

I find it ridiculous that when the 4 of us got breathalized we all blew under .01 (we literally had just popped the beers when we got arrested) but they still wrote some of us up for consumption.

Dont be silly, wrap your willy...

Wait, wrong phrase... akward.

Anyways, T-28 is a great turbo, they run really well in DSM platforms.

milman I sent you a pm on this. from what I can see that turbo is a t25.

that sucks about the cops, i've been in that situation. I got a dui when I was 20. I only blew a .06 (.1 was legal limit at that time)but since I was underage DUI in PA is .02

the best way to tell is pop the compressor housing off and measure the inducer and exducer with a micrometer

The 14b can flow 34-35 lbs/min and has delivered a 380whp trap speed more than several times: 12.0 at 122 14b street car no nitrous

It is terribly underrated. It is definately a 325+ whp capable turbo. Especially when you swap on a cheap used 16g 7 cm^2 turbine housing. It then starts liking 18-20 psi boost alot!!! It usually is all the turbo the average back yard madifier will ever need.

(IMG:http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/compressormaps/td05-14b.gif)

The peak volume flow is .23 m^3/sec on the MHI compressor map.

1 m^3 is 35.3 ft^3. 0.23m^3/sec is 13.8m^3/min. 13.8m^3/min is about 490cfm(ft^/min). The "rule of thumb" is .07 X CFM = lb/min. But that number usually is higher. Nevertheless, this equals 34lb/min. This is what I said. And the time and mph is recorded on dsmtimes.org : Dan Loncher. I edited to include the discussion of his track day in my previous post. What does a 2600lb car that traps 122+ mph put to the wheels? So, ^^^yes

The 14b is a great turbo. Especialy when you add the 7cm^2 turbine housing. Since then you have a 16g hotside and you have all the turbine flow that any evo3 16g has. You can max out the compressor quickly yes. And that is around 34 lb/min. Dan showed there's more there though. DSM's arn't famous because of just boltons. There's power potential right out of the box. Fortunately several others took the "risks" and paved the way for us to see what can truely be achieved.

little that you know that, that guy did a lot to his car to be able to do what it can do. and so far no one else can do it with the 14b turbo. some had tried and gave up. hell even some guys from dsmtalk cant do it.
