Hi there,

I'll like to know how reliable is the meter on the 2008 Outlander when you set the screen to L/100Km. I've done 7.5 L/100Km on a 80Km/h road, which seems way under the maximum this car can do. In the city when the traffic is bad I've averaged 17L/100km. The car was suppose to be in between 8.5L/100Km and 10.4L/100Km. I want to know if this meter really messures the gas the car burns or it just estimates consupmtion based on the average speed and the time you have been driving?

Try resetting the count each trip. Just hold the info button, now I had a 2hour trip all highway average 8.1/100km...not bad at all...and I've seen some trips in the city at 10/100 km...all depnds on how hilly , up and down, stop start...i've had a 5 min trip in the city average 32l/100km...i was flooring it most of the way...

They test fuel consumtion on cars on a flat surface, which really is never the case for us..

Fuel consumption can be controlled as much by the driver, as the specs of the engine..
