I just bought a 2009 GTS automatic. What kind of gas is recommended? 89, 91, or 93.

My 2007 Civic SI that I just traded in recommended 91+. That's why I always got 93.

According to Mitsubishi website, our Lancer GTS is recommended to use unleaded octane 87.

If it was recommended by Mitsubishi to use 87, would it be bad to use a higher grade? Would it be better or worse to use say 93?

better to use 87. Cheaper and recommended. Octane ratings are deceiving anyways..chemically, 91/93 has less "energy" than 87..but the car is made for 87..so, there is absolutely no benefit to using a higher octane.

It will definitely take some time. But the practicality and convenience is what I was looking for. Automatic was my top priority as well.

I'm going to miss my SI, but I got an excellent deal so i'm happy.

09 GTS fully equipped for 20,643 OTD.

Update your profile... you don't drive that Civic anymore!

BTW, ouch on the value of the car. You traded in a 2007 Civic SI sedan and still got $20,700 OTD? I got $23,420 OTD on my car (2008 GTS w/Sun Sound and Navi)... with no down payment... or trade-in.

Just for kicks... what color was the SI?
