Hey all,
when it's sunny out, I can barely see the screen even when it's set to Day mode.
Is there some sort of cover or shade available for it?

or just use some card board and use sharpie to color in black and tape it on as a shade. Nice and easy...

QUOTE(SixFeetDeep @ Aug 2 2008, 12:44 PM) So has anyone come across some sort of a screen protector that blocks the sunlight from washing the display out?
umm... It will wash out under the sun? I think it is safe to use Plexus plastic cleaner on the screen. http://www.autogeek.net/plexplasclea.htmlI bought 3 cans last week to use it to clean my 3M protection film.

Just set your screen to Night Mode. It's a lot brighter and I have no problems seeing it in the day nor night.

I tried this. I believe its day mode you meant to write. With Night mode in the daytime i was barely able to see anything w/o the glare.

Nope, night mode! It's a lot brighter than day mode so the screen is not dim.
Also, make sure you have that little button on your dash (around the speedometer area) adjusted to a bright level. Could be that it's set really low.

This only applies to the non-Navi units. Night mode is supposed to reduce the brightness in the car while driving at night. Less glare from inside your car makes it easier to see outside the car. The only thing the "night mode" for the navi units is turn the maps black instead of yellow/white. It's to simulate night driving

Fingerprint protection? Loss in brightness? And you're local too! Where exactly are you from?
